After you have booked your boudoir photo session, the real fun begins! Think about what you want to wear and how you want to look and start shopping. Do you want to be sexy or sultry, shy or a vixen? All this can be conveyed through your clothing and props. Here is a list of different clothing and props that we find work really well.
- Lingerie
- Regular underwear
- Stockings (with garter belts) and socks
- Shirts (button downs work great), blouses and t-shirts
- Bathing suits
- Shoes (the higher the heel the better) and boots
- Umbrellas
- Sun glasses
- Hats (small hats with netting are great)
- Sexy costumes (think French Maid)
- Jewelry (long strands of pearls, anything that can be played with)
- Sports Jerseys
- Silk sheets
- Feather boas
- Aprons
- Uniform (maybe your significant other’s)
Make sure you eat before you come. These tend to be longer sessions and you need to have your energy up. Bring some snacks as well in case your stomach starts to rumble.
Get to your session early. If you are late, then you will start to stress and it will put a negative tone to your entire shoot. We would rather you be early and relaxed then be late and rushing to get things started.
If you are nervous about the session, feel free to bring a friend for moral support! Just know that they will not be in the main shooting space once we start. We try to keep it to as few opinions as possible.
Try to not wear any underwear to the session. Regular underwear can leave marks and grooves in your skin. By going commando, we alleviate all that retouching.
Just like when you went to prom or when you got married, make sure you wear a button down shirt once your hair and makeup is done. We would not want any major smudges happening!
Make sure your deodorant is the clear kind. White streaks on a black nighty don’t look very sexy.
If you are not purchasing the VaVa Voom package, think about getting your hair and makeup done for you. Why not let yourself get pampered! We need a heavier application of makeup to be applied anyway. Let the professionals give you beautiful soft curls and gorgeous smoky eyes or sultry red lips. It will only help set the mood for the shoot.
If you want to wear thigh highs, make sure you get stockings instead. The grippy part of a thigh high does not do nice things to the thigh. Stocking with or without garter belts are much nicer to the thigh and a lot sexier!
